Parker Hannifin Manufacturing (UK) Ltd – Parker Hannifin is a global motion and control technology company. Based in Dewsbury – the Engine & Mobile division are market leaders in filtration solutions for the heavy duty diesel engines.

This facility designs, tests and manufactures systems for original equipment manufacturers. It has a world leading client list across Europe, North America and Asia that includes Ford, Volvo Powertrain, Daimler and Fiat.

Training provided: Apprenticeship Framework – Manufacturing Engineering

16 week initial engineering training at new state of the art training centre at Kirklees college, followed by day release training.

Formative assessment of skills, knowledge and behaviours are required and outlined in the assessment plan.

Foundation Phase:• Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) • Level 2 Diploma (Foundation Knowledge)

Development Phase: • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) • Level 3 Diploma (Development Knowledge)

End point assessment: • You will need to demonstrate how you have achieved full occupational competence against skills, knowledge and behaviours set out in the standards.

Pay details: Starting at national apprenticeship wage, with regular reviews and incremental rises in line with performance.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

Desired qualifications (Expecting or achieved)

A minimum of GCSE grade 5 in Maths and 4 in English and science or technology at grade C or above OR GCSEs grade A*-C in English Language, science and  grade B in Maths. OR a level 2 appropriate qualification at overall merit grade including English and Maths at level 2.

The role is to support Parker engineering groups by; Manufacturing components/products/fixtures in preparation for testing-to be used in areas of research and development; Test and analysis data from components/products, validating to product specifications; Supporting our customers in the areas of research and development and new product introduction.
